The Stolen Vehicle Recovery feature gives eligible Kia Connect subscribers an extra sense of safety and security by using Kia Connect technology and trained Kia agents to work with law enforcement to help recover stolen vehicles.

Have Questions About Kia Connect Stolen Vehicle Recovery?
Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) is a Connectivity-based service available for eligible owners through the Kia Connect Ultimate package. Eligible customers can avail this feature by reaching out to the Kia Connect call center and requesting assistance with a stolen vehicle. If the customer is eligible for SVR, Kia will require the customer to submit a police report and will then work with the law enforcement agency and assist them with the recovery of the vehicle. In some cases Kia may also provide assistance with vehicle immobilization.
SVR requires many connectivity technologies, which keep improving over time. Kia can currently support SVR on all vehicles equipped with Kia Connect which are enrolled in the appropriate Kia Connect subscription level (currently, Kia Connect Ultimate). To determine if your Kia has Kia Connect, visit the Kia Connect Availability page on the Kia Owner’s Portal. For SVR availability, go to Compare Packages.
If your vehicle is enrolled in Kia Connect with a qualified SVR package and is stolen, do the following:
- Contact the police and file a police report.
- Get a copy of the official police report.
- Contact the Kia Connect Call Center via the Stolen Vehicle page in the Kia Access app or Kia Owner’s Portal.
- Provide the Call Center representative with the police report number and any other requested information.
Stolen Vehicle Recovery Mode will be enabled after a valid police report number or police complaint report is sent to the Kia Connect Call Center. The call center agent will verify the report with a law enforcement agency, check for the pre-requisites, and enable the Stolen Vehicle Recovery Mode. While all Kia Connect equipped vehicles have SVR technology, only vehicles enrolled in the qualified Kia Connect package can initiate SVR services. Check if your Kia has Kia Connect on the Kia Connect Availability page of the Kia Owner’s Portal, and check which Kia Connect packages currently have the SVR feature on the Compare Packages page.
For your safety and the safety of others, certain Kia Connect location and remote features—i.e., Find My Car, remote lock/unlock, start and stop with climate control, etc.—are disabled during law enforcement recovery efforts. If your vehicle is recovered, the disabled features will be reenabled. If your vehicle is not recovered, we will cancel the Kia Connect subscription for the vehicle.
Yes. If your vehicle has Kia Connect and you are in a qualified Kia Connect package, you can report your vehicle as stolen. You will still need to provide the Kia Connect Call Center with an official police report.
No. While the SVR feature provides us with the ability to attempt to locate your vehicle, this process requires multiple technologies to work together such as vehicle connectivity devices, network providers, etc. Due to a variety of factors, we may not be able to locate your vehicle.

Kia Connect Lite is only available for five (5) years starting from the new vehicle retail sale/lease date as recorded by the dealer. After this fifth (5th) year date passes, Kia Connect Lite will no longer be available for the vehicle. For instance, if an owner purchases a new vehicle and immediately enrolls it in a Kia Connect ULTIMATE subscription for the first two (2) years of ownership and then cancels the subscription, Kia Connect Lite would only be available for the remaining three (3) years in the five (5) year period.
